The Westchester Black Maternal and Child Center of Excellence (WBMCCE) is committed to improving black maternal health.

Welcome to the Westchester Black Maternal Child Center of Excellence (WBMCCE). We are a premier black maternal resource center dedicated to celebrating and uplifting the Black Family throughout the birthing process.

Launched by Sister to Sister International, Inc. (STSI), a non-profit and non-governmental organization, our mission is to connect, advance, and strengthen women, girls, and families of African descent worldwide by providing access to the most current and available resources that can positively impact their lives.

At WBMCCE, our mission is to transform black maternal health outcomes by advocating for equitable access to quality care, addressing social determinants of health, and dismantling systemic racial biases.

We are dedicated to empowering black communities through comprehensive support, education, and resources, ensuring every individual has the opportunity to experience a safe and healthy birthing journey.

Together, we strive to uplift families and foster a health system that values and respects every person’s right to optimal maternal health.

Our vision is to create a future where every black mother and child experiences optimal health and well-being, free from systemic inequities and biases. We envision a community where equitable healthcare practices give rise to safe and empowering birthing experiences, fostering a generation of healthy families.

The United States has the highest maternal mortality rate of any high-income country and significant disparities in outcomes – and the crisis is only worsening: the maternal mortality rate in 2021 was 89 percent higher than the rate in 2018.

The Black Maternal Health Momnibus Act will address this crisis through historic investments that comprehensively address every driver of maternal mortality, morbidity, and disparities in the United States. â€‹
