Welcome to the Westchester Black Maternal and Child Center of Excellence (WBMCCE). We are dedicated to advocating for birthing individuals throughout the entire birthing process.
Launched by Sister to Sister International, Inc. (STSI), a non-profit and non-governmental organization, our mission is to connect, advance, and strengthen women, girls, and families of African descent worldwide by providing access to the most current and available resources that can positively impact their lives.

At WBMCCE, our mission is to transform black maternal health outcomes by
advocating for equitable access to quality care, addressing social determinants of
health, and dismantling systemic racial biases.
We are dedicated to empowering black communities through increased public awareness, outreach to pregnant women and their support systems, promoting reproductive rights and educating health care providers on the bias that negatively impacts black maternal health outcomes.
Our vision is to create a future where every black mother and child experiences optimal health and well-being, free from systemic inequities and biases. We envision a community where equitable healthcare practices give rise to safe and empowering birthing experiences, fostering a generation of healthy families.

BIRTH FROM THE EARTH
Educating & Empowering Women & Families
Birth from The Earth Inc. became a non-profit organization in 2019, after 10 years of community engagement and building, in an effort to evoke change rapidly on a grander scale. WE as a society deserve equity, quality and love in the care that we give and receive... which means we have to create it for ourselves.

WBMCCE TEAM
Our team is made up of passionate and experienced individuals who are committed to our mission. We believe that access to quality maternal health care is a human right. Through our programs and initiatives, we aim to empower and uplift black communities to achieve better health outcomes.
The United States has the highest maternal mortality rate of any high-income country and significant disparities in outcomes – and the crisis is only worsening: the maternal mortality rate in 2021 was 89 percent higher than the rate in 2018.
The Black Maternal Health Momnibus Act will address this crisis through historic investments that comprehensively address every driver of maternal mortality, morbidity, and disparities in the United States.
